Any advice on posing?

Posted by boomasters - July 13th, 2021

I've been drawing for years now, and like to think I'm better than I was when I started, but lately I've been struggling with coming up with dynamic poses, and when I think of one sometimes I cant put it to paper (or tablet). It would be a huge help if anyone would drop some tips or videos on posing cartoon characters.

Also does normal atomy translate well to more cartoony characters?

Thanks

I say that normal anatomy is essential to drawing cartoony characters. After all, they're symbolic of a real person to some degree. Look at art which you like and copy it, or have it inspire you to draw (whether or not you draw something related). Search around and find what interests you, then learn more about that.
And make very sure that you're not disregarding something without good reason because you think it's too difficult or not interesting enough; the more you try, the more easy and interesting things will be.
